I have often thought of going into the city, Melbourne Central I think where they have a Flight Simulator. Expect it to be good if you like that sort of thing.....a Boeing 737 or such ?
Anyway at my local Shopping Centre saw 'Microsoft Flight Simulator' and a comprehensive Joy Stick combo for $70.00 ? thought, ok........
Since then I have had a great time flying Helicopters from Essendon Airport and landing it in the MCG. Flying a Cessna from Essendon Airport to Moorabbin Airport and because I didn't crash I took off again and did a flight over Mt Dandenong across the Sivan Dam then back to Moorabbin. I also flew a 747 from Melbourne to Sydney but got waylaid somewhere sight seeing towns etc and landed in Canberra. A bit embarrased trying to land a 747 at Essendon......flaps full down and brakes hard on and thrust off. Then off the end of the runway.........anyway, Does anyone else get a buzz out of flying any range of aircraft in real time situations to real places with all the limitations thrown in...Amazing. I tried an Airbus in thunderstorms last night and got lost, scary......I know I still have to learn more about navigation and where to set flaps and engine speeds but it's great....... : )
