Robinsons Land Corp., the real estate unit of the Gokongwei group, said Thursday it will acquire a two-hectare lot in Libis, Quezon City.
Robinsons Land said in a disclosure to the stock exchange it signed an agreement with listed glass manufacturer Republic Glass Holdings Corp. to acquire the property.
Sources said the property would be transformed into a mixed-use development with commercial and residential components.
Republic Glass said in a separate disclosure the sale would be on installment basis with payments to be made over a period of two years.
Both companies did not disclose other details of the deal including the acquisition cost.
Robinsons Land president Frederick Go said earlier the company would be more aggressive with its landbanking activities for residential developments as real estate sales remained robust amid the prevailing low interest rate.
Robinsons Land launched its newest mixed-use development in Ortigas central business district called Sapphire Bloc early this month.
