Do you think Casablanca and other Moroccan cities should T follow São Paulo and outlaw outdoor ads/ billboards as visual pollution? :
In 2007, after lenghty discussion surrounding concerns that outdoor advertising was becoming invasive and constituted visual pollution, Sao Paulo, Brazil did something incredible and banned outdoor advertising completely. Their argument was that simply living in an area does not count as opting in to seeing advertisement, as buying a magazine or visiting a website does. In fact, it was considered that the adverts are being forced on citizens who ethically should have the opportunity to decide that they are not interested in seeing them.
