Kenyatta University, through a loan from the Chinese Government is building a teaching and referral hospital that will offer most advanced medical treatment and the finest amenities. The hospital will have among others units for cancer, gerontology and oncology. Additionally, a significant component of the Hospital will be the availability of tele-medicine facilities to enable doctors consult with their peers in reputable hospitals in the world for second opinion as well as giving medical advice to local hospitals. Hospitals all over the world are usually capital and human resources intensive projects. Whereas the loan from the Chinese Government will be sufficient to undertake construction of the hospital and provide basic equipment, there will be need to locate funding to provide state-of-the-art medical equipment and capacity building of staff in the hospital. |
