Cycling in Brazil

Ok, so I'll start from my hometown. Belo Horizonte is the hilly state capital of Minas Gerais in the southeast of Brazil. It's a 4.8 million people metropolis which traditionally never used much bike commuting (except for lowest class workers) due to the terrain. Cycling used to be considered mostly as a sport and/or leisure source.

Since late 2000s however things are changing. The City Hall is building many bycicles lanes in an ambitious plan called Pedala BH to spread this green transport and more and more people (specially younger generations) from all social classes are joining the biking transport.

On this post there are:

. 2 new maps
. 2 new bycicle parks images
. 5 bycicle lanes images (already posted)
. 1 new video (Ciclovia da Savassi)
