Jerusalem municipality unveiled a plan the aeriel cable-car gondola lift system that will connect the Cinematheque hill,
with stations close to Sha'ar Ashpatot (dung gate entance) to Mount of Olives observation point.
The cable car will seat up to 5000 passengers per hour and will be timed to connect with the Jerusalem light rail train also as a means of transport. The main feature will be viewing the old city, mount of olives from above and better access to the old city over heavily congested entrance routes. time scale for completion: 2015.
