I thought it would be useful to have a general thread for discussion of housing developments in the city, that of are interest, but perhaps wouldn't sustain their own thread.
To start us off, the council has released the draft report of their Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment up to April 2012, which identifies up to 1200 sites across the city that could be used for housing in the years from now up to 2028. The sites in question are listed in a document for each ward of the city, all of which can be accessed from here - http://www.liverpool.gov.uk/council/...ty-assessment/
Of more use however is the following document which shows all the sites marked on a map of the city - http://maps.liverpool.gov.uk/connect...AA_SITES_SPLIT
Looking at the map, some of the sites marked have actually already been developed/are currently being developed. Some of the currently undeveloped sites make good sense, while others I think are a little questionable, either for using space that should be preserved, or else for potentially acting as a roadblock to a more fruitful development in the future. Whatever your thoughts, it's an interesting map, that's worth a look through.
