Safe Areas for Students?

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I'm a medical student that is going to be in Miami for a 4 week period next month. I was wondering if anyone could help me with what areas to avoid (I'm married, but my husband won't be with me for the 4 weeks)?

I currently have located an apartment at the intersection of Meridian & 4th in Miami Beach, but the information on the internet is so hit and miss. I will be working at UoMiami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, if that helps.
